Early 19th century gilt chamberstick

This is wonderful gilt bronze chamberstick, originating from France and dating between 1810-'20.
It is made of ormolu and the chased ornamentation is exquisite.
The form is known as a Bougeoir épiscopal, the candlestick has a handle with a tube for storing a candle.
The candle socket is seamed and screws into the plateau with a screw thread.
Condition: Very good.
Length: 25.5 cm (10 inch).
Width: 12 cm (4 7/8 inch).
